iTuny version 0.5 Released
Well it’s about time to release this new version, this app comes with a lot of improvements, better coding (I hope) and support for other services.
The change log is in the rar file, but in short:
- Twitter support
- Pownce support
- Snarl support (needs snarl installed on your machine)
- new commands (config, party, twitter, pownce)
- new configuration window
- proxy support (if you are behind a firewall on your house or office and want to use the twitter or pownce feature)
- popup and snarl time control
So here are some screenshots:
iTuny comes with alot of improvements for you to enjoy. Please let me know if you want another feature or find any bug.
Hope you like this :)

I love the fact that you have focused more on Snarl. The only thing is, the EXE crashes as soon as I load it (running Vista 64bit)

Which exe?
Sorry to ask this, but the rar contains 2 exes, the Snarl_CMD.exe and the iTunes Control.exe the iTunes Control.exe is the installer. :S
The snarl_CMD.exe is the Snarl command line interface.

That’s relly weird,
I’m using it with itunes 8 and have no problems :S
What’s the problem that iTuny reports you?
And what’s your machine configuration?
I’m using ituny with Vista Home Premium, iTunes 8 (after fixed my installation with reset2.cmd).

I get the message with “You have a bad iTunes installation or don’t have iTunes installed” (Same Windows as you)
After I ran the setup again, and rebooted, the problem is gone. :)

Can you please mask the passwords in the configuration dialog, as well as transmit them securely down the line.

I cannot run iTuny properly either, I am using iTunes 8.0.1 on Vista Home Premium x64. The only way I can get iTuny’s shortcuts to work in Launchy is to start Launchy as an administrator. Then Launchy can give iTuny admin access. If I start Launchy normally, I get the bad iTunes install message. I suppose a workaround for this issue would be disabling UAC.

That happens when iTuny can’t create the iTunes object, this happens when iTunes is not properly installed. This happened to me on every iTunes Update, after installed, every time I started iTunes Windows tried to configure my iTunes installation. After that process iTunes worked ok but iTuny and any other program that interacts with iTunes can’t communicate with it.
To fix this you can read this http://f0vela.wordpress.com/2008/07/22/fixing-itunes-installingupdating-problem/
Hope this helps.
